Festive events you can get to on the T3

Festiva magic awaits if you’re travelling on the T3. From Santa Specials to twinkling lights and choirs, here are some events you can visit to celebrate the season.

 

Llangollen Railway Santa Specials

Late November and throughout December 2025

If you’re looking for picturesque views with a festive twist, head to Llangollen Railway. A treasured tradition for the railway, enjoy the backdrop of the Deeside Valley whilst Santa Claus makes his way through the train with a special gift for every child. Grown-ups can sit back and relax in the decorated carriages, with a complimentary mince pie and a mulled wine.

 

Barmouth Christmas Lights Switch-On

Known for its beach views, Barmouth isn’t one to miss when it comes to festive fun. Head to the harbour town for the Christmas Lights Switch-On, offering fun for all the family. Expect late night shopping, music and street entertainment, Santa’s Grotto and an indoor performance from Côr Meibion choir.

 

Santa Specials at Bala Lake Railway

Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December 2025

Bala Lale Railway is a great day out whatever the season but is especially magical during this time of year. With scenic views of Bala Lake and the Snowdonia hills, the railway offers special visits to Santa’s Grotto during the festive season. Expect a wintery journey down the line where Santa will greet you and children will receive a gift. Accompanying adults will be treated to a mince pie and a glass of sherry or a hot drink.

 

Yuletide at Xplore, Wrexham
