Use the 1bws ticket in North Wales

Travelling in North Wales? You can use the 1bws ticket which is valid on almost every bus* in North Wales.  

The 1bws ticket is valid on the following TrawsCymru services: T2 Bangor to Aberystwyth, T3 Wrexham to Barmouth, the T8 Corwen to Chester, the T10 Bangor to Corwen, the T12 Wrexham to Chirk, and the T22 Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon. In addition, the 1bws ticket can be used on the Snowdonia Sherpa network  Snowdon Sherpa | Snowdonia National Park (gov.wales)

Buy your 1bws ticket from the bus driver on your first journey of the day, the ticket will then be valid for travel on every other bus you use that day across North Wales. (Please note that 1bws tickets cannot be bought via mobile apps or websites) 

An adult ticket will cost £7.00, a child (or young person with a My Travel Pass) will pay £4.70 and holders of English and Scottish concessionary bus passes will also pay £4.70. A Family ticket is available for just £15.00. A Weekly 1bws ticket costs £30.00 for adults and £20.50 for children and concessionary pass holders.

Using a 1bws couldn’t be easier. One ticket, for all day, valid on every bus in North Wales—Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey, Wrexham—and on buses from North Wales to Chester, Whitchurch and Machynlleth. 

There are buses covering most of the region. It is possible to explore the North Wales Coast, Snowdonia, the Clwydian Range, the Dee Valley… from the comfort of a bus in the knowledge that someone else is doing the driving and you are doing your bit for the environment.

*1bws is valid on all local bus services operating in North Wales (the counties of Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey and Wrexham) with the exception of service 28 between Mold and Flint. It is also not valid on tourist services operated by open top buses, on National Express coach services and park and ride services.
